The Centre for Social Protection at IDS, in collaboration with Irish Aid, offers this free online course ‘Social Protection: A Primer’.

This accessible course provides a basic understanding of key concepts and definitions, elaborates on the main instruments in the ‘social protection toolkit’, delves into regional differences and considers key issues in building social protection systems.

The course can be followed at one’s own pace and offers a certificate upon completion.
